Greetings from Honduras! This week I spent five much-needed days recharging in Guatemala City with three of my Brooklyn friends who are currently based there working on an and marveled at all the hidden gems the city had to offer. I felt so lucky to experience a city most backpackers blow through — and to truly enjoy it. I am looking forward to eventually writing more about my time there.

But eventually, it was time to head towards Honduras, my last stop in Central America! I broke up my journey towards the Bay Islands with a few days in the sweet little town of Copan, where I toured the Mayan ruins of the same name, got up close and personal with some parrots and mostly just sweltered in 100°F heat. Next up (and final stop!), a return to the beautiful island of Roatan.

But now, onto Photo of the Week…

  • Oh… you’ve made it difficult this week but I’m going to go with D. I like the composition and the snapshot in time shows movement and tells a story. Enjoy Roatan!

I love the colors of A. The frames need to be straightened. The toucan is very good. But I love C. The area personified, I think. HGTV just did Roatan, looking for a B&B. They looked at Turtle and Sandy Areas. Bought a future b&b and dive service called Papaya Paradise???

Hmmm, I will have to ask my friend on Roatan if she knows anything about it! She was almost on House Hunters International down here 🙂

  • So many colors! I love how you can feel the vibrance bursting from each photo. I’ve gotta go with F this week – that plant is just beautiful and the ruins are fascinating. 🙂

Really looking forward to reading more about Guatemala City. I have heard only bad things about it from tourists and the press, and like you said, nobody ever goes there as it is supposedly too dangerous. A friend of mine lives there and she said she never had any problems, but she is Colombian, so I’d be interested to get a gringa perspective. 🙂

Photo A. Vibrant. Meihoukai – I hope soon, you can write a blog article on romance during travelling (aka holiday romance) The trials, triumphs, tribulations and of course, heartaches. I met one recently and you can say, after he had gone home to his home country, our communication has kind of stalled now. I’ve been upset since and yes, it’s not cool. This is when you begin to doubt yourself (low energy, what did i do wrong, etc…)
