Greetings from Bangkok! Those following along on know I just spent the most amazing few days exploring Thailand’s wine region with a group of twelve of my nearest and dearest from Koh Tao. Yup, Thailand has a wine region and yup, I survived planning a trip there for twelve! The Khao Yai countryside is an extremely popular vacation destination for Thais but very rarely visited by Westerners — part of the draw to the area for me was knowing I’d get to write all kinds of juicy (grape pun? anyone?) content to help other travelers get there too. Stay tuned!

This was my favorite trip I’ve taken in a long time — a challenge and adventure to plan, and unbelievably rewarding to execute. I’m blessed with the most amazing group of friends and getting to explore a totally new destination together in a country we call home (at least part time, in my case!) is a memory I’ll treasure. Especially a destination as beautiful and peaceful as this one.

Now we’re all back in Bangkok, spending a few days soaking up the joys of the big city before returning, eventually, to our little island. And in Wanderland this week, I’m looking forward to kicking off coverage of my mini-roadtrip through the American Southwest — I’m so excited! Can’t wait to see you all in the comments.

When I first saw pictures of this trip on IG, I thought you were in Europe for a second! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And funny story: I actually had a conversation about whether or not there are wine regions in Thailand with my family the other day – they didn’t think so, so I’m going to have to update them with this post! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Enjoy Bangkok!

Believe me, we were having the same problem when we were there — we couldn’t stop exclaiming that we no longer seemed to be in Thailand! It really felt like we’d transported to a different continent.

It’s on my “bucket” list to visit every wine region in the world so I can’t wait for these posts. In my experience, the lesser known wine countries tend to bring it the hardest. Loving Photo D!
