Lately, my Photo of the Week posts have been just a single photo — a far cry from the many, many options I post when I’m abroad! But frankly that’s because on this visit back to the States I’ve been focused less on fun and travel and more on work and other drudgery. (And let’s just ignore the fact that I’m days late in posting thanks to a misplaced memory card reader.)

This week I’m finally back on the move! After eleven straight days in Albany, this week I drove down to Philadelphia, stopping for less than twenty four hours in Brooklyn. In Brooklyn I finally met up with the wonderful , dropped all my Indonesia-bound luggage at my friends’ place, and then went to . The usual.

On Sunday morning I drove to my dad’s new home in Philadelphia so we could finally spend Father’s Day together again — the last few years have had me thousands of miles away. And being the wonderful tour guide that he is, he’s showing me all over the city. My favorite stop so far? , an amazing art installation by a former Pratt graduate! There’s a lot more about my trip to Philly to share down the line, but for now, onto Photo of the Week candidates —

Love these photos (as per!) It’s hard to choose a favourite one this week but I think Photo D just pips it to the post.

Thanks Naomi! I’ve never heard that expression… “pips it to the post.” I love it!

All are good. But, voting for Photo C. It’s very environmental and clear compared to other “garden’s” photos.

Can you believe all the art in Philly on the buildings. I have never seen anything so unusual or mind blowing as Magic Gardens. So glad you went(and me too). One trip is never enough. I will vote D even though the staircase leads to a great spot.

I agree, I can’t wait to go back to Magic Gardens! Next time I want to catch one of the talks there. I really love that roof deck too though, could have spent the whole trip up there.

Love the magic garden ones but I think A is my favourite, for its beautiful simplicity! Great shots as always, enjoy your time with family and friends x

But I love how you have the sun in most of the photos!

I was afraid that was going to be repetitive…. but I guess I was just really into sun flare this week 🙂

Obviously they’re all pretty great pictures, especially the way the sun shines through the glass in most, but it’s got to be Photo A for me.

I was hoping that your dad would show you some of the Isaiah Zagar mosaic when you told us it was your first visit to Philly – and I am glad to see he did! 🙂 We loved his art. C is my favorite pic. And, it was great meeting you last weekend – I am sure our paths will cross again soon! XO

Yup, my Dad should really get a membership there already — he’s brought every guest he’s had in Philly! I hope I get to check out one of his talks someday on a return visit… fun that we are both alums of the same school! And agreed, I had a great time with you guys. So sad we didn’t take a picture!

Took a visit to the Magic Gardens for the first time this May and also went photo crazy, that place is quite a gem. I choose D!
your dad’s stairs are indeed pretty cool…when I was little I had an infatuation with spiral staircases

I love them in theory but not in practice — those things are a trick to walk up with a tray of mimosas in hand!
