Coney Island has long been one of my favorite places in New York. I regret that I didn’t start blogging earlier, because I have so many happy memories on this unique little beach that I’d love to share. But this weekend, I got to make some new ones. This celebration of summer and skin was dreamed up thirty years ago by some of the artists and quirky characters that call Coney home. I have hundreds of photos to share about this unique holiday, so look for a full post coming up this month. For now, I’ll just say that I couldn’t dream up a better way to spend a sunny Saturday than to bum rush the beach with several thousand fellow New Yorkers, dressed as one of my favorite sea creatures.
