This week I’m in Colorado taking part in my first , the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers. I am physically exhausted but mentally I’m buzzing on community energy, inspiration, and altitude (the welcome party was held atop a nearly 12,000 foot-above-sea-level mountain!)
I can’t wait to post more about Denver and Keystone and of course about the conference itself. For now, here are two competitors to kick off Photo of the Week Year 2!
These photos were taken at the , where I was lucky enough to catch the prestigious Yves Saint Laurent retrospective in it’s only US venue.
These pictures reflect the natural beauty that Colorado is famous for. I might be suffering from the altitude here in Keystone but I am absolutely love the open skies and expansive mountains as far as the eye can see.

Unfortunately I didn’t have a post go up yesterday, so I want to wish a belated happy father’s day to my wonderful Dad and any other fathers I may have in my blogging audience! Loyal readers have been introduced to my Dad before, when we traveled together to Cambodia in 2009, when he visited me in the Cayman Islands in 2010 and when he visited me in Thailand in 2012. While many of my travel-friends have parents who are constantly guilting them to come home already, my Dad has always encouraged me to push my globe-trotting as far as I can, reminding me that home will always be there.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I wish I was as good at blogging as my dad is at what he does. His confidence and success has made him one of the first people I call when faced with a seemingly unsolvable problem. Somehow he manages to see through the hysteria and help me remember my priorities. On top of it all, he’s one of my most loyal blog commenters. I love you Dad.
