Despite spending half the week here in Chiang Mai, all of this post’s photos come from my last days in Chiang Rai. After not really leaving our luxurious resort for days, when my sister left I felt the need to get out and explore! So I walked around the city one day and took a of the countryside the next.

Since I arrived in Chiang Mai, I’ve taken it easy — my days are filled with working, eating, and yoga-ing. I’m getting a little restless though — next week, you can look forward to photos of elephants, a massage course, and maybe even a cooking class!

This week, there turned out to be a serious theme going on…

Are you sad you missed it? Honestly it was great but you know they could have built it a little closer to our pool, just sayin’….

Greetings from Siem Reap. I like D. We have not been there yet. Gotta get there. Not this trip, though.

Thank you Chet! I don’t like Chiang Rai as much as I like Siem Reap, but it’s definitely worth a visit πŸ™‚

It’s definitely the most unique temple I’ve ever been to in Thailand! If only I could have taken photos of the inside, where the mural included both George W. Bush and Angry Birds!

    Hi Meihoukai,
I absolutely love your blog! I am planning my first ever trip to Thailand, and I was wondering whether you had a particular area that you love the most? Trawling through your archives, so many places look amazing! It’s really hard to decide where to go, because I haven’t traveled there before so have no idea how easy it is to get around, from the airport etc! I would like to go somewhere that isn’t too touristy or built up, but not super remote either! Any suggestions would be fab! Thanks – Ollie

Hey Ollie! Hard to choose, as Koh Tao is like a second home to me. But Railay is probably the most beautiful part of Thailand I’ve ever been to! If you’re looking for somewhere in the North, Pai would be my pick. Enjoy!
