Another week, more underwater photos and declarations that time is moving too quickly. You all must be getting bored of this by now, am I right?!

It is crunch time on finishing my divemaster course, so I was very lucky that this week I was able to bring my camera on one dive and also have an afternoon at the beach. Believe it or not, in my full month here so far this was the first time I have sat my butt on the sand in front of the water for more than three minutes during daylight hours. It was glorious

On the beach in Gili TrawanganDocumentation exists: I spent five weeks on Gili Trawangan and did in fact go to the beach at least once.

While deep diving is always fun, nothing quite gets me going like shallow dives like this one — I can’t get enough of that light streaming in from the surface.

I’m torn between the beach photo (fairly normal beach photo, but beautiful nonetheless) and the eel, which is much more unusual…

I definitely hesitated before including the beach photo, which is fairly typical. But there’s something about that white sand, blue sea, and Lombok in the distance. Couldn’t resist! 🙂

And the sandy feet show that you’re just pausing for a bit, perhaps to savor the view. I’m not a beach person either, but sometimes I stop and have a look 😉

I’m with Rob…. A or C but more likely C. A is too painful to look at! BTW I refuse to be photographed with you when you come home– your tan next to my pasty skin is just not going to fly

Don’t worry I’ve actually spent most of my time either underwater or in the shade at the dive shop. Hopefully my final few days in Bali will even me out…

I found your blog as i was browsing through Bloglovins categories. I love it. I’m a terrible swimmer, i cant open my eyes underwater, i do about 3 lengths before i get bored, i’m terrified of drowning and i cant float – it’s that bad that when in water people call me ‘a stone’. However five years ago i took an introduction into scuba diving and i loved the freedom it gave me. I could breathe(!!!!) and being able to do so made me relax. It may have been a 30 minute preview at my local swimming pool but for the first time in my life, i loved swimming. Just reading your posts and seeing your photos gives me that same feeling of joy. Thank-you so much for sharing!!

Amy, thank you so much for this comment! Love reading about the peace that diving gave you. I hope you get the chance to try it out in the ocean someday… see the sealife really adds a completely new dimension!

  • Definitely C! I’m a sucker for eels. Their faces are just the funniest. Your DM feels like it’s going fast to me too…you almost done? Snorkel test time 🙂

I’m going for D – every time I go snorkelling here in Koh Tao I hope to see a turtle, but no luck yet. I’ll live vicariously through you until then 🙂

Turtles are definitely much more of a rarity on Koh Tao than they are here! We are actually ridiculously spoiled with them here on Trawangan!

  • Hi Meihoukai, love the site! I’m a fan of C, beautiful shot!

Hey Charlene! I did it with Big Bubble in Gili Trawangan. I recommend it!
