What a week! My time in New Orleans absolutely flew by — I still can’t believe I was there for a full ten days. I had just barely begun to recover from the Mardi Gras revelry when it was time to begin my California adventures. My girl Lindsay, who you might recognize as a partner-in-crime from The Full Moon Party and other Thailand escapades, scooped me at the airport and we headed straight for an adventure of the more wholesome variety — a weekend at Disneyland.

While I’ve been having an insane amount of fun, my anxiety levels are at an all-time high due to my work backlog and some other business-related stress. Right now I’m looking forward to the workweek ahead, when I plan to barricade myself in Linday’s Venice apartment and do nothing but attack my to-do list. But the laptop party won’t last long, because next weekend I’m heading to Palm Springs to watch my friend Amy say “I do!” Stay tuned for some seriously stylish wedding pics. Until then…

    A. Mardi Gras is about the crowds, revelry, and people hanging off balconies on Bourbon Street watching the show and being part of the show at the same time. Looking forward to seeing you in staid and boring Philadelphia in April.

  • Photo D. My Idea of a perfect “vacation” … people slam tourists but I totally see myself there in 10 years with a fanny pack full of sunscreen and like 6 kids.

Great pictures as always Meihoukai. I like picture A most this time, such a great angle of so many people on the balcony.

Photo B. ‘Cuz I heart the swamp! And the fact that Louisiana gators are way nicer than Florida gators (no fatalities ever!).

Not only are you in my city right now, you are in my HOOD! If you want to get out of Lindsay’s apartment for a bit, I’d recommend Cow’s End & Venice Grind for getting work done. Or Intelligentsia if you wanna go uber hipster. Oh & 212 Pier off Main is the only coffee shop open super late. Enjoy! I’m sure your friend’s got you covered but if you need more rec’s, just ask.

I didn’t know that about the Louisiana gators… interesting factoid! So appearantly I’ve just learned I’m actually more in Marina del Ray, ha, but I just looked it up and am only a 15 minute walk from Cow’s End! I might try to make my way over there sometime this week once I’m out of deadline crisis mode. Thanks for the tips!
